Costa Rica Surfing Trip May 23 - June 6, 2005

We stayed at the Barcelo Hotel in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. The surfing in Costa Rica was great! Most of the time we went surfing in the back of the hotel at Playa Langosta, but a couple of times we took a taxi to go surfing at Avellanes. The greatest day of surfing in Costa Rica was when we took the boat out to Witch's Rock and Labiertos. Witch's Rock got up to around 8ft+ on the sets. We rode over to Ollie's Point but it was flat because we were there at the wrong tide. Labierto's is an amazing surfing spot in Costa Rica. We drove the boat up to this cliff peak and I saw the best waves I've ever seen in my life. Perfect 8-10ft+ waves just rolling in one after another. The same perfect right every wave. It got a little sketchy on the inside though because you had to dodge a couple of rocks. I definetly recommend going on the Witch's Rock Boat Tour if you are ever surfing in Costa Rica!
